"How can we as designers induce behavior change to limit waste incineration?
"This project is an anti-systemic proposal to combat the polluting process of incineration. Many household wastes are superficial packaging and their incineration could be avoided if they simply did not exist. However, zero waste consumption patterns are only popular with a niche group of people. Zero waste requires an awareness and a voluntary approach, it is not a reflex. In the majority of households, we buy what the supermarket offers. This project aims to make visible the vices of the system, at the source, in order to put an end to innocent consumption and to reach a non-initiated public.
The campaign is based on the detour of promotional labels that we see every day on the products we buy every day. The principle is simple: we choose a type of packaging or product and identify a concerning element, it can be a data or a problem. Then, we also choose a type of product label that we twist to get the message across.
These labels blend in perfectly with the products they denounce and remain discreet at the store level, but when a user comes into contact with a "hacked" product, the message stands out
long term goals requiring a huge network effect
Anyone who wants to take action can collect sticker sheets from partner organizations or receive them at home. In order for everyone to express themselves and claim a message, we also offer the possibility to users to propose their version which, if founded, will integrate the next sheets
